Our commitment to the environment is reflected in a series of concrete steps aimed at consuming responsibly and supporting the local economy. We favour short distribution channels by working closely with local producers, which allows us to guarantee the freshness and quality of our products while reducing our carbon footprint.
By actively participating in the local economy, we are contributing to the sustainable development of our region. In addition, to reduce our use of plastic, we have installed a water fountain, offering our customers an environmentally-friendly alternative to plastic bottles. These actions reflect our desire to protect the environment while offering an authentic, high-quality service.
Consuming better while contributing to the local economy
For your breakfast and sweet breaks, our home-made fruit juices (apple, peach, grape …) and jams from Parfums de Terroir, cakes and pastries are homemade by our restaurant, dairy products from La Ferme Desiris and La laiterie Etrez and honey from a village beekeeper.
For your meals, our restaurant l’Auberge Larochette offers local cuisine using selected fresh seasonal produce.
Our wine list features mainly local wines, including those from our Les Arbillons estate. The entire estate is HVE certified and is committed to organic farming on 10 hectares in the Mâconnais.
Installing a water fountain
From the outset of the La Demeure project, we saw the installation of a water fountain with Purezza as a matter of course. For us, this ecological approach is essential, not only to reduce our plastic waste, but also to demonstrate our commitment to the environment and our planet.
Opting for a water cooler represents a conscious and sustainable choice, in line with our values of ecological responsibility. It reflects our desire to promote environmentally-friendly practices within our establishment, while offering a practical and hygienic solution for our customers and staff.
Hair & body shower gels
All our rooms are equipped with hair and body shower gel dispensers, with the aim of reducing our plastic footprint and waste. This initiative echoes our commitment to the environment, as the use of disposable solid soaps is neither environmentally friendly nor economical.
In collaboration with Bulles et Gourmandises, a well-known company based in Dijon, we are now offering soaps made from grape varieties, which is also a tribute to our wine-growing estate. We’re proud of this approach, which combines respect for the environment and promotion of our terroir, while offering our guests a unique and responsible sensory experience.
Recycling waste
Responsible waste management is very important to us. We have set up a rigorous selective sorting system where each type of waste is carefully disposed of in dedicated bins.
In addition, we have an on-site compost bin, which enables us to recycle organic waste and help reduce our environmental footprint. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to adopting sustainable, environmentally-friendly practices within our establishment.
